Ridge Climbing at Daedunson

After a fun weekend climbing in Busan, we werent ready for the cold weather to take over just yet. One final ridge climbing weekend in Daedunson was the perfect way to end our outdoor rock climbing adventures in Korea. Though we may do a bit more bouldering here or there, the changing seasons has our next adventures focused on ice climbing and hiking.

A friend we met in Busan, Aaron, came up to stay at Matts apartment Friday night so we could get an early start Saturday morning. We caught a 7am bus that took 45 minutes to the start of our hike up the mountain. With only a quick stop here and there and a water break at the Buddhist womans cave, we were at our starting point within 50 minutes. It was surprisingly warm weather which gave us an opportunity to shed some layers of clothing and climb comfortably. Matt started us off with the first lead climb of the day followed by Aarons crack climbing lead next. Though I didnt lead any of the climbs due to my lack of knowledge on top belaying, I enjoyed finally learning the set-up so next time (most likely in the states) I will get my chance. Ill let the photos tell the rest of the story.
