Rooster and Dragon Mountain

Gyreyongsan is a mountain near Daejeon. The mountains' name means rooster dragon because its ridgeline looks like a dragon wearing the crest of a rooster. This popular mountain has a small town and temple located at the start of the route providing for some tasty restaurants and numerous souvener shops.

The actual climb was not difficult though it was raining the entire time Matt and I were there so it took about 4 hours. There are different choices for routes and we chose to take the difficult way up and easy way down which proved to be a good course for us. At the top, the view resembled the Smoky Mountains with a beautiful mist and green scenery. We went to a few different peaks travelling through the saddles of the mountains and rested at the final peak in a little hut before our descent.
